The HST valve is typically used as a high sample temperature safety shut-off valve for process sampling. IC/FP (Freeze Protection) valves are ideal for the protection of piping, safety showers, condensate systems, fire lines, spray nozzles or as backup protection on traced systems, where an unrestricted flow is required under normal operating conditions. ½” IC/FP Solar Freeze Protection

Installed at the outlet of the collector, this valve will automatically regulate the outlet flow within the setpoint range of the valve. If the outlet water is not fully heated to the desired level, the valve will restrict the water flow to allow more solar heating; as the outlet water heats up to the specified temperature, the valve modulates open to allow more flow. In multi-collector systems, this thermal balancing valve also serves to balance the flow through various collectors which may be producing different outlet water temperatures due to variations in solar exposure, wind or other factors. This valve will automatically adjust the outlet flow to maintain the desired outlet water temperature.

Typically, freeze protection is effected by cracking open manual bleed valves. This method is at best risky. Human error or plugging of partially cracked valves annually accounts for large amounts of freeze damage to expensive equipment. Sparco-Mix Valves NPT (Sparco-Mix Valves NPT)

SPARCO-MIX valves are designed around our exclusive Thermoloid sensor/controller, the most advanced and reliable thermal actuator of its type available today. SPARCO-MIX valves simultaneously control both hot and cold ports, to automatically and accurately proportion the flow in response to fluid temperature. On loss of cold or hot fluid supply the flow rate is reduced to a trickle. For fast response, these valves are compact and low mass. For mixing applications, the SPARCO-MIX valve will proportion the flow from two inlet ports to produce the desired outlet port temperature. Fluid Mixing Valve (HAT/MIX)

HAT/MIX valves can be used in any application in which a constant low flow rate (under 1 GPM) of water at a specific temperature is desired. These valves, like any mixing valve, must be installed with check valves on both hot and cold inlets. Pressure reducing valves are recommended on HAT/MIX installations in which system pressures are likely to vary. Pressure reducing valves should be adjusted to approximately 10-20% less than average system pressure for accurate and constant outflow temperatures. In some installations, throttling valves may be used in place of pressure reducing valves. These throttling valves should be set and locked for safety.

Drain Tempering Valve (3/4 DTV-R)

The DTV-R valve can be used in applications where a discharge flow to a drain or sewer must be tempered with cold water to reduce temperature. In some areas, plumbing codes dictate a maximum allowable sewer discharge temperature. The DTV-R provides a convenient, economical and easy to use method of tempering hot effluent flows. Since the DTV-R is open only when the effluent exceeds the specified set point temperature, it also conserves water by automatically turning off cold water when not needed.

Because of the unique vortex flow characteristics inside the STVM valve, it is capable of mixing steam and water without the usual noise and vibration associated with other types of mixers. As a safety feature, the thermal actuator in the valve outlet is designed to turn off the steam flow into the valve if the cold water flow into the valve is interrupted. The entire internal operating mechanism (AKA cartridge) of the STVM valve can be quickly and easily removed as a single assembly by simply unscrewing the valve cap. This allows easy cleaning and service without removing the valve from the line. The unique flow characteristics of the vortices inside the valve create a scouring action that together with special coatings on the cartridge element minimise the effects of mineral deposits on valve operation, assuring increased service life.

Safety Shower Systems

The TOT-220-SSH-SPR Lifesaver® Emergency Shower features an impeller action stainless steel shower head with a vertical overhead supply. The unit is activated with a 1” stay-open ball valve operated by a stainless steel pull rod. The unit also includes a universal emergency sign and it meets ANSI Z358.1.

TOT- Hosedown Station

The TOT-Hosedown Station has been designed to put the safety of operators first, thanks to its innovative technology. The system utilises a thermal element located in the downstream leg of the mixing valve. The thermal element is designed to throttle steam flow should the temperature set point be exceeded and will completely shut down at 9 Degree Celsius above set point or if cold water flow is interrupted. The thermal element will not re-open until cold water flow is restored.

  • Safe operation: auto shut-off of steam if cold water flow is interrupted
  • In-line field serviceable mixing valve:
    • Cartridge element can be easily cleaned or replaced in minutes, making the wash-down station work like new again
  • Provided with heavy duty globe valves for independent throttling, allowing for cold water only or independent adjustment of water temperature
  • Check valves, stainless steel thermometer, globe valves and stainless steel hose rack, standard with all units
  • Designed to fit in place of standard industrial hose stations

Vortex Cooler

The Therm-Omega-Tech Enclosure Air Conditioning System will keep process equipment from overheating and going out of calibration or worse yet, going out of service. This self-contained unit provides a reliable, economic alternative to costly, hazardous electric cooling such as muffin fans or air conditioning systems. It does not require a special NEMA-7 or -9 enclosures even in potentially explosive environments. Combined with the optional control valve, enclosure temperatures can be maintained.
